What is Convergence?

Convergence is Optym’s annual conference at which transportation and logistics leaders like you exchange ideas, learn about each other’s challenges, explore new opportunities and discuss industry trends and upcoming products. The theme of the conference is Decision Optimization.

The conference agenda includes industry case studies, technical sessions, keynote lectures by renowned speakers and product demonstrations. Some sessions will be of interest to everyone, while others will be designed for specific industry segments – airline, rail, logistics and trucking. There will be ample opportunities for you to network with your peers, share with them and learn from them.

Theme: Decision Optimization

Decision optimization systems are software systems that automate and optimize decision-making. In the past, most of the decisions needed to run transport operations were manual or rule-based. For example, airlines need to decide how to reroute planes, crews and passengers in the event of a snowstorm; railroads need to decide how to move thousands of trains on a complex track network; trucking companies need to decide how to direct numerous shipments through a hub-and-spoke network.

Transportation and logistics companies are looking for software solutions that will marry human experience, knowledge and insights with today’s computing power and improve decision making. The solutions will substantially reduce transportation costs, improve service quality and increase the profitability of companies. This conference introduced the field of decision optimization, educated participants using real-life case studies, provided a vision of the future and inspired participants with this revolutionary technology.
